AIX CSD is a private company incorporated under the Acting law of AIFC. We are responsible for daily cash and securities settlement as well as depositary activities.

Operational model

We utilize the BIS Model II, where securities are transferred on a gross basis while cash transfers are conducted on a net basis. This model enhances efficiency and reduces counterparty risk.
For on-exchange trades, the settlement cycle is T+2, ensuring that transactions are settled two business days after the trade date.
For OTC trades, the settlement cycle is defined by participant instructions, providing flexibility based on individual needs.
We offer a custody model that includes give-up/take-up of settlement instructions, facilitating the smooth handling of securities transactions.
We partner with several banks for settlement, including Bank Center Credit JSC and Citibank Kazakhstan JSC.

Technology

AIX CSD system and front ends are powered by Avenir Technology (Avenir), a global provider of post-trade infrastructure and applications.
AIX CSD utilizes the SWIFT network in line with SWIFT standards ISO 15022 and ISO 20022.
AIX CSD is successfully re-certified under international information security standards ISO 27001 (Information Security Management), ISO 27032 (Cyber Security Management), ISO 27017 (Security Techniques Cloud Services) and ISO 27018 (Best Practices).
