AIX Joins Kazakhstan Association of Islamic Finance and Business as Partner

Astana International Exchange (“AIX” or “the Exchange”) announces that the Exchange has joined the Association of Islamic Finance and Business of Kazakhstan (“the Association”) as a partner.

The Association is a non-profit organization registered within the Astana International Financial Centre and focused on promoting the development of Islamic business and finance principles in Kazakhstan. The organization serves as a platform for cooperation, knowledge exchange and professional development across the Islamic finance ecosystem, while supporting the advancement of ethical and sustainable financial practices in the country.

Assel Mukazhanova, AIX CEO, said:

“AIX has been consistently advancing the development of Islamic finance infrastructure in Kazakhstan and fostering a more diverse and inclusive capital market ecosystem. A significant milestone was achieved on 10th of March 2020, when the Exchange welcomed the first-ever Islamic bond listing on AIX, setting an important precedent for the domestic market.

Since then, we have remained committed to broadening access to Shariah-compliant financial instruments and supporting initiatives that promote the sustainable growth of the Islamic finance industry. We are confident that cooperation within the Association will open new avenues for dialogue, facilitate the exchange of expertise and best practices, and contribute to the development of practical and innovative Islamic finance solutions for the market.”

By joining the Association, AIX seeks to further contribute to the advancement of Islamic capital markets, deepen engagement with industry participants, and support initiatives aimed at enhancing awareness, adoption, and practical implementation of Islamic finance instruments in Kazakhstan.
